strapping amps and dual amps efficiency

I was just wondering if I got two Kicker SX 1250's (cuz i love the digital read out) and strapped them, would it be as efficent as having one Kicker ZX 2500.

And on another note, i was wondering is better to have one amp that is a higher wattage than 2 amps of the same wattage.

Im pretty sure its best to just have one, seems more logical anyways. Strapping though Im curious about.

depends on the usage.

if used at full power, it would be equally efficient.

if used below full power, it would be marginally lower in efficiency. the difference is likely not an issue for a switching amplifier (class D).

many high power amps will just split the power supply and amp up into multiple parts, similar to having multiple combined amps in the same heatsink.

the difference will lie upon the ohmage of ure sub itself....if ure sub is currently wired to play at 1ohm....then the zx 2500 is ure best bet...most often when u strap two amps alike together...they will combine their power but play at 2ohms....so if ure sub playing at 1ohm....then u wouldnt be better of in this event....u will actually be worst off...cuz u will get the same power at the 1ohm and extra current draw due to the additional amp

Uhm I heard the zx 2500 can be run at one ohm, but its sort of luck of the draw whether or not thats gonna last. So i wouldnt buy a sub to run at one ohm on that just to be safe.
