you sturrin at me brah?
i have a very mildly damaged crossfire vr2000d. this black cylinder thing popped, and i think a resistor next to it did as well. i'm thinking this sort of thing would be a pretty straightforward repair, so my question is, can a local radio/tv repair shop handle a repair of this sort? i don't really want to pay to ship it twice if i dont have to, a wichita is a good sized city, so there are about 15 electronics repair shops around here.

heres a closeup of the damage section.

the main thing that popped where its all ashy now, was one of the black cylinders that are lined up to its right at 1 inch intervals. what are these called?

and how much would be reasonable for a repair like this, i was thinking 50-70 bucks? i dont want to get ripped off on something that may take 10 minutes to fix.

if i send it off, its going to steve at zed audio. i'd rather get it done locally though if its a simple fix.
Man is god...i love his work (check out the sig)...!

But that looks like an easy fix...anyone with moderate soldering skills can repair it...

I would also check the fets. appears to be a low value ballest resistor (to force current sharing even if the FETs are not all equally hot). the amp should be able to run without that resistor as well. If the amp is shut down, i'd definately check the FETs.
