strapping 40.1's

I have 2 40.1's I intend on strapping them since I will be running 6 15's. Now I did some math and I was only able to come up with this for 6 15's,

series

6-D1 coils= .5ohm

6-D2 coils= .7ohm

parallel

6-D1 coils= .125

6-D2 coils= .167

Someone please correct it if I'm wrong but I dont think I can strap the amps up in either formation

Or do I not calculate all 6 subs together?

I'm confused

I'm not sure which subs you're using but if you have some power to spare you could split them up so each amp is powering three D2 subs @ 1.34 Ohms each. Otherwise, you have to calculate all 6 subs if you were to strap them since they would initially become 1 mono amplifier.

you wire 3 D2 down to .67. and 3 more D2 down to .67 so now you have two .67 ohm loads. wire that in series so now you have a 1.7 ohm load... strap that and each amp sees a .85 ohm load //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

how about 4 D4's together wired in series/parallel for a 2ohm load? That would put a 1ohm load on each amp correct?

Get 4 D2s, strap at 1ohm, .5 each amp.....easy peasy lemon squeezy

Did them so I can later get SD 5000's and run 1ohm on each pair. I also know from experiance the 40.1's dont like my type of daily abuse:crap:

Wasn't trying to do nothing. I have a different definition of daily. I also demo for a couple hours straight. They didn't like .34 DCR for more than 10 minutes
