Grounding RCAs to reduce whine?

I saw in the stick and going to try this I have 2 questions

first; why are ground loop isolators so frowned upon, I know it just 'covers up' the problem, but how is that bad?

second in the picture he has the 2 lefts and 2 rights grounded separately, do I have to do this? Or can I ground them all off one wire? Will my deck having 6 RCAs have an effect on this?

u can use one wire but its easier for seperate wires. and 6 rcas?? u mean 3 sets of rcas? unplug them all and plug one in at a time then and find out which one is causing whining then ground that one

Ok I just went ahead and ground them all, isn't like it was much more work. One more question is as you see in this picture

they guy grounded them to the screws away from the RCAs I grounded mine to the middle screw(In the picture they screw between all 4 RCAs) is that the wrong screw? I couldn't find a screw driver small enough to remove any other screws.

dude check your radio antennae plugin in the back of the headunit, that will cause a shitload of alternator whine transmission, i just moved mine far away from all of my speaker wires/rcas/and remote turn ons and it solved my problem with my alpine

Oh maybe that is why, I just left mine to sit on the HU

ground loops are fround apon because not only they just "hide" the problem they also reduce the sound quality you get.
