So I'm pretty sure the court, regardless of what state, would clear all charges if you shot and killed the sicko that broke an entering and had deadly force on him, plus tried to take a gun from the house owners hands to possibly use against him or his family.

My gf's uncle shot and killed a burglar about 15-20 years ago and never was charged with anything. The burglar happened to have a .45 on him when he was rummaging through their basement. Not that it really mattered, the piece of shit deserved get a permanent vacation from society. lol

15-20 years ago the interpretation of the law was much different. Also carrying a gun is pretty much an automatic get shot...

Here in WV you can shoot somebody for tresspassing and get away with it, so yea

Honestly I don't know the laws of Ohio, but I just know what I would do if I had a gun and seen someone with a knife or something else in my house. I don't care if I knew them, he lived down the street or it was sum bum. I just know family comes first, simple as that. Now if he was in there with nothing on him then might be different. But this wasn't the case with what the OP said. He said he had a knife on him and that he told the kid to leave many times, but wouldn't and then they got into a tussel and he knocked him down with the bunt end of the shotty, but that didn't work, so he chocked him out till the cops got there. He even said the cop mentioned he should have just shot him.

And yes, the laws are probably a lot different in large cities like NYC or LA
