Strange Subwoofer Activity- Need Help

My wife's WRX keeps making this thud coming from the trunk. It does it randomly and in various degrees of severity. We only hear it at low volume.

It sounds similar to drivin over a pot hole or speed bump except it does this while driving and while parked.

Her equipment is about 9 years old but sounds like it was new with the exception of this weird "thud."

It's been doing this for about 2 months now.

Anyone have experiance with this issue or a similar issue?

Its an angry midget.

Actually it could be a bad or loose RCA connection on the amp.

Sounds like some wire is loose. Check out your amps ground too, if it's to the frame take it

off, wire brush the area and tighten back up.

You really expect us to be able to give any reasonable diagnosis from this? Like said above, it could be an angry midget trapped in your trunk.
Run the system while watching the subwoofer. Try getting the noise to repeat itself... play the same track in the same place at the same volume as other times you've heard it. Report back if/when you learn more.

I don't expect anything from you. I don't know enough to make an educated guess. I was looking for a likely cause so that I could have a direction to move in.

For all I knew, this could be a problem that audio elite hear or encounter all the time.

You never know unless you ask. Hense my post.

We will mess with it tomorrow while watching the subs.
