Strange audio dilemma

Hello all.....i dnt understand y this is happening......i have a kenwood 9105d amp that i just got and dual 4-ohm pioneer subs.....now before i got the kenwood amp i had the subs wired @ 4-ohms which i was running bridged on a 4-channel amp......then i got the mono amp..so i sold the 4-channel....i ran it on 4-ohms for a while and it sounded pretty decent.....however i was only able to get 500rms on that one channel, not enough power for me = not loud enough....the amp is rated as follows:

500 @ 4ohms

900 @ 2ohms

>900 @ 1ohms

....anyway so i wired the subs down to 1ohms.....and they aren't bumpin no where close to 900rms...to be honest it sounds like 150rms

@ 4ohms they were louder.....what do u think is the problem?....i want to get the most bang out of my amp

actually lemme say what i did with regards to the gain....i wired the amp ofcourse turned the gain all the way down....turned my stereo about 3/4 of the way up (so only my interior speakers were playin) then i dialed up the gain......and of course the bass came on and went louder as i went higher on the gain knob....but louder isn't what you think....it was pathetic actually.....and that was even after i dial the knob beyond the midway point

Subs are out of phase. Check the polarity on them. You got + and - backwards somewhere.

I agree with the above statement. Sounds like the subs are fighting each other. Make sure you are going + to + and - to - on both subs and then make sure you are not crossing + and - at the box terminal or at the amp. Also check your ohm load coming out of your box and make sure its 1 ohm.

yes, and if the phase is right maybe a speaker is blown?

ok so it wasn't wired right.......now it is.............and amp is still not puttin out power, what else can i check?
