Strand count with 1/0 welding wire.

My friend's dad gave me some 1/0 welding cable he was going to make into massive jumper cables.

However, it's not very flexible, and there are very few strands, enough so that I can count them if I really wanted to. How important is strand count if the overall diameter is the same ? I have the knukonceptz fuses and distro block, so the strands are evenly distributed for contact with the components.

Just means that they used a thicker gauge conducter which inturn, limits flexibility. IIRC, Gauge is determined by overall size. As long as it meets the standard size, you'll be fine.
