Running Crossovers Off Of H/U

I don't have a spare amp to run my Type X comps, but I was wondering if it was possible to run the two crossovers off the h/u's amplifier?

I've got the 6.5's, tweeters, and a single type r 10. Not sure exactly how to wire them all up, but that's a different question all together. The H/U is just putting WAY too much bass to the 6.5's. Making some pretty nasty sound.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It is possible BUT you will not get the best of sound. AND the HU will have a hard time putting out enough voltage to "control" the speakers. As a temporary fix why not run a "bass blocker" available at most audio stores and the net. This will cut your low pass to your comps and help protect from the unwanted lower frequencies. They are passive so they just wire directly in the positive speaker lead (I think).

Hmm that certainly sounds like a great idea, at least until I can get a amp for my speakers. I need to get some sound deadener as well, but I'm sure I can find that in a search.
