Also, lightning can and will kill you inside a car. Lightning has enough voltage (current potential) to arc-flash and ground through ions in the air. The thing that "helps" but doesn't always save you in a car is those big round rubber things that keep it from touching the earth.

You are correct, most of a vehicle is grounded via cables/ground straps, I never said it wasn't. I said the best ground is right to the battery and that is a FACT, anyine who argues that is simply ignorant.

Even then, the best grounding point is still the battery terminal. Its amazing how many people don't know that a vehicleisn't actually "grounded" itself.
I think you misunderstood what I said. A vehicle itself is not grounded, meaning without the battery the vehicle is not grounded. Proven by what happens when lightning strikes a car
