Stock stereo doesn't have RCA input/output

I know I'll have to buy a line out converter for the RCAs since my friend has done it before on his stock stereo. But I don't want the local shop to install it this time since their last couple installs were done poorly. My question is, where would I connect the line out converter to the stock? I know it says to speaker wires, but which speaker wires? Front or rear?

Also the friend's sub plays constantly with everything being played on the stock radio. Even songs with no bass to them. The install was done by the shop, but I think it may be the line out converter's setting, i'll have to check on that.

is it bass coming out all the time or is it engine noise?

a LOC is a bad way to go. get a new hu. but if you wont do that, go for the rear speaker wires. though it really doesnt matter.

it's bass, no engine noise. haha he doesnt have enough money for new headunit. the system he got just made him broke. ok, only hard part for me installing it on another car is getting to the stock speaker wires, it's a pain in the ***.

might have a factory amp that'll be easier to get to.

may have to do some research on the car first. i dont like how the shops install them. had my 0 gauge wires ran and they didn't do a good job.

by the way since im already here, what's the best setting for my amps on the crossover frequency?

got alpine type-rs in the front, kickers in rear, and a fi btl 12 sub. amps are pdx-4.100 and fosgate t20001bd.

i messed with it for a bit, setting the sub amp between 60 and 160. sounds good between them, but i still can't decide.

well thanks for the help, ill do some research on the car and hopefully have the install finish soon enough.

I've never had a problem with using LOC's. There's a bit of a quality gap... but odds are if the user isn't willing to spend the money on a nice HU with a good solid pre-out, there's no point.
