Hey, I'm driving a 1995 Mercury Mystique that came equipped with the Ford Premium Sound System including the factory amp. A couple months back I replaced the 4 factory speakers and head unit. I just got a cheap amp/sub and am wondering if anyone knows how to get the amp hooked up to the speakers without rewiring them all.

Here's the speaker output from the current amp.

And here's the amp I got.

The head unit I currently have hooked up is the Sony Xplod CDX-GT300.

I was thinking about getting one of these http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00032C2EW/ref=asc_df_B00032C2EW791568?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=dealt5794-20&linkCode=asn

and then cutting off one end, and extending the wire directly into the amp, and plugging the other end into the harness that goes to the speakers. Does anyone know if this would work? Also, the output to the speakers has the regular 8 wires, but then there are also 3 more, does anyone know what these are?

Thanks a lot

i have had 2 thunderbirds with the same setup i just rewired them but that plug looks like it will work and the other three wires should be power ground and remote

Pics don't work my friend. But if you want to use the stock speaker wiring, it's a piece of cake in most cars, especially if there's a factory amp.

Just gotta locate a pin-out for your amp and tap into the speaker wires.

Sorry about the broken picture links, they're fixed now. When you recommend that I tap into the pin-out, would it be possible for me to cut one end off of the amp eliminator harness, splice longer wire onto it to, run it into the amp, while I plug the other end into the current harness that is plugged into the speaker out of the factory amp?

Thanks
