I'm running what in my sig and I'm just wondering what you guys think the max number I could get are. I know there are a lot of variables but my car is not deadened, and it's firing back if that helps. Just from my ear meter I was thinking I'm at 135ish but I'm not sure.

Thanks for any ideas.

Let me ask you a question. What good is our opinion going to do you? I mean if we all form a consensus that you are indeed hitting 135, what does that do? We've never heard it. Are you going to start telling everyone you hit 135? Just get it metered if you want to know. If you don't want to know, just enjoy your stereo. These things are pretty simple.

i finished a system a month back with 2 of those. 4.5 (2.25 per sub) tuned to 34hz with 72 sq. inches of port, in a white hatchback mustang. he called me and said that he metered over 150 on a TL at a show here in denver. they are apparently capable of producing bass. install will make the difference anyway.

Even w/ a reasonably designed daily box in your vehicle...I can easily see 142+ @ around 45hz-50hz peak.

One of my customers here at the shop runs 2 DD2512's on a DDM2a @ 1ohm...does 147-148 in an '00 Cadillac Catera @ 49hz. Thats w/ just a basic 4cuft 36hz box, solid lows, slight peak in the high-40/low-50hz range. His trunk hates him, lol.

Wow, wasn't expecting a response like that. It's getting meter'd on July 24th at my first comp so we'll see how that goes. It's tuned a little more for output up at 38hz, but that's just because DD was recommending 40 and I wanted a little lower than that. I love the way it sounds at 38 though so I don't think 40 would sound bad.

40 would sound fine. maybe a little peaky on music, but some people like the boomy sound anyway. they like lots of port area too. i did 16 sq inches per cubic foot, and could probably could have done more. i guess the kid really did meter over 150 at the dash on a TL, sealed, playing music. i usually dont listen to people when they claim numbers, but apparently he's being truthful. his subs were not even a week old either. since he only paid me 75$ to do the box, he doesn't even have a double baffle or all thread bracing. no 45's in the bend of the slot port either. although i really dont like the music that comes from the 2500's (most people would be satisfied), they do get loud. without knowing what the cabin gain/resonant frequency in his car is, and after seeing just an okay install (okay at best), with a half as$ed braced box, without a double baffle and a very minimum of deadening on the hatch...im fairly impressed with the spl potential of the dd 2500 series 12.

Well here's what I did with my 2512 on an Audio Control meter. The shop that has a TL wasn't open today so I went with the Audio Control. I did a 144.3 on music like stated on the sheet and I didn't play with frequencies much, just did a 141.5 @ 44hz, no burp. The sheet is a little funky that he wrote up for me, he did a receipt with my name at the top and highest score in the memo section but here it is.

Well, depending on calibration....I have seen the AC meter dead on or 12dB+/- w/ the TL.

If the AC you metered on was pretty accurate...the 142 I guess was pretty much dead on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

(local calibrated AC's are ~2dB higher than my TL)

btw....ygpm
