Stock BMW audio + sub....

My friend has a 2007 BMW 328 xi coupe and wants to hook up her Alpine Type-R 12 and I believe the amp is the MRP-M1000 (she said it's an alpine 1000 watt she got from best buy a while back, so a good guess, i assume). Anyway, I need to know the best way to hook up an loc (or better option while retaining stock radio) in this particular vehicle. There are several different radio options, but all appear to have a stock pair of 8 inch subs. I imagine the best location for a converter of any type would be on the input to whatever amp is powering those. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I personally use the ISVE61, but it may be overkill for your needs since it is really more for 4 ch. amps. worth looking into however if you want a really nice one

Looking at the AudioControl LC2i makes me want to use it.... but i was trying to use the pre amp signal. Would there be any problem if I just run the factory preamp straight to the Alpine, and wire the remote wire into the fusebox?

More than likely. One of two problems will more probably arise. Either you are going to get no volume because the preouts are low voltage and the input you can use converts high voltage to a usable signal...Or it will be the same volume no matter where the volume knob is because the volume control is done inside the factory amplifier. Or some other problem I am not even familiar with...its just not a good idea
