Still nothing competes with 880prs?

So i haven't had my pioneer deh-p880prs and i am missing it real bad right now due to the fact that this sony deck is the source of my alternator whine due to horrible filtering in the power supply I assume. So i started poking around on the major websites and there still aren't any manufacturer's other than pioneer that make a full 3 way active capable deck anywhere near the price range of the 880/800prs. WTF?! Why? What is so tough. That closest thing i could find was the alpine unit *number slips my mind* but then you have to get the expensive *** imprint kit to go along with it. Doesn't come out to be anywhere near the 300 bucks i could get an 880 for new. Am i missing some units, or is there really no other option? I don't mind the 880 it was really good to me. I was just thinking maybe there is something with some different styling, plus i always like trying new things (unless they're gay lol).

I'm not gonna spend over 280 bucks. It just isn't necessary since the 880 offers everything i need. I just like brand choice ya know. Like when i got my tv. I spent a couple grand on an lcd 46" class. Top of the line tv's from Samsung, sony, toshiba, hitachi, etc. All had the features i wanted, but i chose the samsung because i liked how it looked the best. I just want to be able to do that with a 3 way active capable deck lol.

I love my 880prs. I have serious alt whine going on right now and I've narrowed it down to my pioneer headunit but I refuse to sell it lol. The guys at the local shop told me out of all of their Alpines, Eclipse's and Clarions that there was nothing that competes with my Pioneer. I'm just keeping the volume up high enough to drown out the whine haha

Lol yeah i blew a pico fuse on my 880 and internally repaired it, and no more noise after that. ****in with my amp without disconnecting the battery again like a retard.

But that kenwood deck doesn't do anywhere near 3 way active, so it's out.

theres a clarion unit, i think its dxz775 or something... is capable of FOUR way active for well under 200 new. theres also the dxz955, which is 3 way capable, the alpine 9887, the eclipse 7000 series... more than a couple.

how hard was it to get inside and replace the fuse?

my understanding is that it's not a fuse but a diode. Pioneer will repair it by using a diode with a higher rating. just grounding the RCA shield in lieu of replacing the diode is just as effective.

if you have a soldering iron with a small tip, replacing it is easy.
