Still Can't Get New Motherboard To Power Up

The error code C1 means a memory problem, but the FF indicates a failed BIOS.

Try moving the ram to different slots; maybe even try booting without ram.

Also, try removing the battery to clear the BIOS and replace it after a few minutes and see if the problem dissapears.

From what I have read, the BIOS chip is a big problem in epox boards. You will probably have to RMA the board. I would try to exchange the board with an Asus or MSI board if possible.

EPOX makes a good board - that one reminds me of my old 8KTA3+.

What CPU do you have installed, what sticks of ram, what AGP card;

Post all the information that's relevant for a better diagnosis. If C1 is a memory error (I didn't check) then a few things are possible;

CPU clock / FSB jumpered incorrectly

Ram is improperly seated

Requires paired ram

Requires ECC

Ram is incompatible

Ram is defective

Rather then remove the CMOS battery, clear the CMOS using the jumper (detailed in your manual.)

Sounds like you've got your board all f*ckered up.

It's possible the board is messed up. I already removed the battery and cleared the CMOS. The manual says all I do is change the jumpers from 1 & 2 to 2& 3 for 3 seconds to clear the CMOS. Well, it didn't work.

I swapped the RAM around in the different Banks but nothing happened. I think I am just going to buy a bundled mobo and CPU.....

Okay so I went ahead and removed and reinstalled everything again and now I get POST Code 68. Well, at least that is what it appears to be because it fades away fast. The monitor's LED does turn on green this time but once the POST Code readout goes blank, then the LED goes to amber on the monitor.

Any ideas or suggestions on this POST Code? I am going to try to reinstall everything again later one hardware piece at a time to see if I can fix it.
