still a problem

i have a 95 neon and my setup is one 15' l7 and one pg x1200.1 with a 02' pioneer head unit. Plus 4 gauge wires and one yellow top battery and its all wired correctly except the power wire going thru the door henge then the firewall and my problem is when i turn my stereo on and turn it on 8 then the bass hits my engine revs a little then when i try to turn it say on 12 the bass cuts out and the amp lights blinks and turns self on protect mode. My cousin who installed it said it was the deck but im not too sure about that cause it had no problems on my last setup which was 2 dual 12's and one kenwood 1000w amp so what do yu guys think could be wrong?

Trace your remote wire and make sure there are no bare wires showing through. Make sure your ground has a good metal to metal contact, make sure all the paint is ground off to get the best connection. I had a friend with a pioneer deck, when he turned the volume up; the subs would cut out. I figured it out to be the remote turn on lead coming from the HU was bad. I switched it to the red acc wire and the problem went away.

thanks guy very much i for right now have the ground cable hooked to the back of the seat latch not the seat belt metal under the back seat i still need to do that anyway but ill have someone check the remote wire thank you ill tell you if it worked

i knoe but when i lifted my back seat out (by the way its a bench seat) the guy at the stereo system said i connect the power wire to the ground wire so it'll reach to my seat belt bolt. Then take the bolt off and wrap the power wire thats connected to the ground wire around the seat bealt thingy and put the bolt back on the seat belt. Then i gotta mess with my wires behind my deck because when i turn my car to the left both my speakers work the i turn to the right and one works so i think those are the two problems well three the power wire thru the door. Do you guys think thats whats wrong?

The very first thing you should do is find a better ground for your amp. Try to make the ground wire as short as possible. Where is the amp mounted? If it's in the trunk, there are plenty of bolts you could use. Make sure the paint is sanded off.

Sounds to me like you just tapped into the cars wiring harness. Take the HU out and re-check all the wires. Hopefully he used a HU wiring harness for your specific vehicle. The wires are all color coded.

Definitly re-run your power wire through the firewall. Running it through your door hinge could ruin it.

Does it only happen when u turn the steering wheel, or when you use the blinkers?
