the game is for the fans and the fans vote for the starters and if they wanna see shaq, they'll vote for shaq

Yeah, lets not put in the best of the best right................

Granted this year, besides shaq was pretty on par with their picks.

the fans wanted shaq and they voted him in. what do you want the nba to do, ignore the fans and tell them shaq can't start?

Yes!
So I guess everyone could vote in Jake Voshkuel just because they could?

Come on now.
yes they could. how do you think yao ming starts every year? cause all the asians vote him in. how do you think ben wallace made it every year? cause all the detroiters voted him in. big market teams have an advantage over small markets

Ah, both those guys you have mentioned have had all-star type calibur years when they were voted in.

What I am trying to say is that they could just vote in any guy no matter how shitty he was just to vote him in the starting line up.

I am sure there is a rule some where saying that they had to have a decent season before hand to be able to be considered. Like shaq might get voted in, but he has a hell of a legacy he has lived up to for the most part.

not really. there was a huge campaign last year in detroit to vote in pudge this year. it comes down to politics and who people want to see. obviously they won't vote in nobody's. when you give ignorant people the power to vote, bad thing happen. example, george w bush

True, I guess Pudge needed a huge campaign last year to get in. I mean the guy is very good, but he is starting to show his age.

Agree, but I heard that he is getting tired of catching. I wonder why they havent invested in a younger herald catcher among the likes of Colorado Rockies cather Chris Innaneta. That guy is supposed to be a beast both on offense and defense. I think Pudge has some years left in him being he started so young, but I dont know if you can keep catching.

they have been trying to get a young catching prospect. dombrowski has built his farm system with pitchers. detroit is thin on young position prospects, but maybin is one of the best.

Guys have enough talent for the most part pitching wise. I think you should look into a catcher for sure.

Grady Sizemore made USA Todays top 20 players out of the top 200 players. So did Travis Hafner.Sizemore was #20 and Hafner was #18. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and had 2 others in the top 70.

Detriot didnt hit till 66 with Carlose Guillen. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

eh detroit doesn't have one great position player, but a solid lineup top to bottom. i'll also take the deepest pitching staff in MLB //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Cleveland is gonna give them a run this year, mark my words if you want. As long as they stay healthy. Better bullpen will help them this year and have one of the better pitching staffs. They just need to start off hot and stay that way. They feel apart in the early start last year after they started hot.

Clevelands line up is pretty good.

Sizemore-(One if not the best centerfielder in the game right now.)

Barfield 2b-(Up and comer, hell his dad was Jesse Barfield, a homerun king.)

Hafner DH(Stays healthy expect MVP type numbers)

Martinez c(One of the best offensive hitting catchers.)

Blake 1b(They have Garko who is impressive in the wings.)

Peralta SS(Can put up good numbers, has to work on his defense.)

Nixon RF(Good free agent pickup and good club house guy.)

Michaels LF(Will platoon with Delluccii and will do ok)

Marte 3b(Is about the only ? mark in the line up.)

Sabathia( One of the better pitchers out there. Always seems to do well year in and year out.)

Lee( Once he is back and healthy should be good 2nd starter.

Westbrook( Last year on his contract, so should see his best stuff. Good innings guy)

Sowers( Gonna be a good one)

Byrd( He sucks!)

We need a closer too, I dont know how Borkowski is gonna do.

sabathia would be about the 4th or 5th starter in detroit's rotation. verlander has struggled in spring training so he might regress this year, but bonderman is ready to step up and robertson seems poised to build off of 2006
