stetsom amps

there is a review of them on here as well in the amplifier review section.

if you're running it daily get the 16v version, 12v is for car being off unless they have been modded.

again though, msg dtbrown about his friend's that's still for sale.

Or look into RD/Sundown/Atomic's larger amps.

Either way, expect to dig into your wallet for it if you don't want to look for alternatives.

Lets clear the air and give the info he's looking for.

Stetsom 7kd has a 16v version and 12v version. The 12volt version are only for spl competition and there are only a handful of them out there. So 95% of the 7kd's out there are 16volt version.

Now lets clear up what a 7kd 16v version is. It just means that it can be used from 10 volts to 16 volts. And the 7kd 16v isn't limited to only competition, it is a great daily amp with proper electrical. You will see 4k-5k out of a 7kd 16v at 1ohms with proper electrical. What's proper electrical? Your two kinetik 2400's are perfect for one 7kd 16v being run at 1ohms.

We are currently running the one that we have for sale daily at 1ohms and it does a great job beating the snot out of 4 kicker L7 10's. With the four kicker L7 10's and the 7kd 16v running at 1ohms my guys pontiac Aztek, it musics 146db and spls 150.7db all at 1ohm running off of a single battery that is a little more powerful than a single kinetik 2400.

Anyone who tells you that the 7kd isn't a good daily amp has never run them or has run them improperly. You could invest in 2 3k amps for similar or cheaper price than a 7kd and get similar or more power than for music but you'll have to run two amps that are almost the size of a single 7kd. 7kd's are expensive but they offer a lot of power in a small case. If you don't mind waiting for our new 7k2d then you'll be in for one nasty music amp in a case about 25" long.

Any questions on this amp feel free to ask.

Ok, i've got a question then.

See how much actual distortion you have when you do get to the magical 7kw...not whats posted on the website.

The way they are doing tings is a very cheap and easy way to get a lot of power. Which dBdraggers and such could care less about distortion and cone control, they can make the enclosure control the cone to an extent, and the mic reads distortion just the same as it reads any power...

Don't care what you say, you can talk until your blue in the face. You simply cannot tell me that that amplifier will be anywhere near remotely clean as the crown a6000gti or even the new warhorse from Kicker.

You give up a looooooooooooot of control when you start monkeying around with the output stage as they have. Power is power for many people, the more they can get..fantastic. Sadly in a daily driving scenario..power isn't necessarily 'power'. Control and distortion reins supreme...

And yes, i've messed with the amps before you jump the gun. Spoken with quite a few legendary amp designers...they seem to see what i do and hear what I do. I'm trying to figure out whether it's a smoke cloud and a name brand bias, which in car audio is generally the case. Just seems awful coincidental that everybody who runs the amps seems to run all the same equipment as Dante...big deal, he's loud at 72Hz...

Make a woofer and a amp that'l do a 160 at 30Hz on music and THAT is impressive

Why are you so sensitive about this company/product. No one came attacking you. And no where in million years would I ever try to compare $5000 amplifiers to an amp that retailed for around $2k? Of course the 7kd's not going to be as clean as an amp that cost over twice as much. But that doesn't say it doesn't sound good. Not once has stetsom ever claimed the 7kd to be the cleanest amplifier available. They offer big power in small case and do it well for music and spl. Could it be done better? Of course, but expect to pay more also.

Btw, this has absolutly nothing to do with Dante. Sounds like you may have something against him? I don't know and sorry if you do and sorry if that may have reflected on your reason to not like Stetsom.

And there are people out there using 7kd for music that do close to a 160db but I don't know if at 30hz, probably more like 40hz. But I do agree that music at 160db at 30hz is impressive but the only problem with it is the vehicle doesn't stay together very well especially the glass.

it (or at least the company and reps associated with it) is

OVER 8 tv's? like...8.5 tv's?

nice sales pitch. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Aaa, thanks. You really thank so. That wasn't my intension but I do appreciate the complement. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Any other intelligent comments you'd like to add?

Dante's attitude changed my view of Stetsom from day 1...ramming product down peoples throat, letting them use highly modified versions of the amplifiers to test in their car...order an amplifier from them then get the amp then it's all of a sudden down 2-3dB from that wonderful test amp that he let people use.

I have nothing against Stetsom...they aren't what some people claim they are. You order a cheese danish and you expect to get a cheese danish that you tasted, not a plain roll made out of rice flour. Now you tell me wouldn't you be pissed off if you found that out? Put yourself in those peoples shoes..it so happens to be a few of my personal friends that it happened to. I don't take kindly to a company screwing people over...sorry. Left a very bitter lasting impression.

I 100% don't blame you. When it comes to testing and sharing my test results it has nothing to do with anything coming from Alan. All my results shared are from stetsom product that I test myself or from my team mates tests. I learned very early on when dealing with Alan that what he'd tell me about the product was going to be very different from what my personal experience was going to be with the product.

I'm not saying that I don't like Alan because that is fare from the truth. But I do fully understand where you and other people are coming from. And it ***** that Stetsom has to over come issues like that especially since they are new to North America.

I personally try to give the best unbiased experience on product. And I like to share that info with other people. Yes, we happen to own five 7kd and have been using them for spl and music and with great success and not one issue. And our 7kds are no different from any bodies else's 7kd that they would get new. I agree that if he was ever showing a product that was X amount stronger than a off the shelf product that would put a sower taste in my mouth about the person and the company. So I feel ya.

I just hope my info can be taken for face value and at some point helps another person either make a decision to try Stetsom product or see that it may not be for them.
