stereo shutoff...fuse blown?

So I decided to try to plug a power inverter into my cigarette lighter, but right when I did, my stereo went out (powered off). Now it won't turn back on. I also have an ipod hookup with my CDA-9856 head unit, and speakers, and the cable is acting like its working (it is charging the iPod, and is ready to go), but yea stereo is not turning on. I am guessing a blew a fuse? Also, my cigarette lighter is not working anymore either (no biggy I only use it to charge my phone most of the time anyways, and I can get this fixed later). Anyways, so I am wondering, what could this be? I am sending it over to Tweeter to get fixed (i am under warranty, and am not too intelligent when it comes to car audio), so what could it be? Fuse blown? Need a new stereo? How much could this cost? How long could it take? How bad is this?

Thanks al ot for answering a pretty newbie question

mine shut down the other day and it was the fuse near my second battery that I blew (unknowingly) while doing Big 3

So yeah, it could quite possibly be a fuse

if its a blown fuse, you will spend about 5 dollars for 6 of them or so, and it will take 2 minutes to replace it. so its not bad at all, but dont take it to somone, replacing a fuse is one of the easiest things you could ever do, besides opening your car door.
