are there any pros and cons to running my front stage with a bridged 4 channel amp compared to running it with a two channel? the only thing i can think of is that i would have to adjust two gains, one for left and one for right. whereas with the 2 channel, i can get one where both left and right are adjusted by one gain knob. is there anything else i should know?

more than likely you will get more power with any 4 channel bridged than any other 2 channel amp out there. and plus as you suggested, you have left/right gains on the 4 channel amp.

hmm.. I was thinking of ditching my d3 400.4 for a jl 300/2 cause of the easier tuning. the d3 being 182x2 and the jl being 150x2. but left/right gains are better though huh?

to me it won't make or break a system but its just nice to have. also remember jl audio amps usually underrate their amps by 10-15%. so actually its around 165-170 watts. me personally the slash series amps are much better than the diamond d3 amps especially in terms of build.

You would probably need a couple of y-splitters to split the front RCA output from the HU to all 4 inputs of the amplifier, since most 4-channel amps need an input for each channel. You would simply use the Y-splitter to connect the left RCA's to the input for one pair of channels, and the right RCA to the other input for the other pair of channels.
