Stereo Integrity Mag V4 Pics

In conclusion, if you are looking for a very dynamic and listenable sub, this is it, but if you want more SPL, find an old Mag V3 or an old BM, it will serve you better.
Most certainly. I know its odd but I had a slight temptation to turn off all the other speakers and just listen to the mag full range lol. Great sounding sub for sure., I must say its making me want to try a V3 or older version too just to see what created all the original hype //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

That's why I ordered 3. Should be good for a bit of SPL as well.

...but ****it I still have not enough time to get everything installed! Sigh...

That should be sweet when you get it all done. Judging by what I am getting out of 2 output wise I think 3 would be just right, loud enough to shock some people and do some damage but clean enough to listen to all day long and make sweet sweet music to your ears.

reminded me of this LA sub that I ran a while back

Basket does not = Sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

May be exactly the same basket but you can bet it's not XBL^2 and doesn't have all sorts of other goodies going on!

My review:
Well, I finally have my new Mag installed and set to go.

The new Mag sounds great, definitely more punch to it than my BMs had. The drum hits on Pink Floyd's The Wall album are all clean, crisp and precise. Much more pointed that on the BM.

On Nine Inch Nails Discipline, the notes have an actual shape to them, there is a buildup and a decay, not just a thwack from the drum hit. Again, I can't say the BMs sounded bad as they destroy any other sub I have heard in SQ, but the Mag truly is that much better.

On rap this sub keeps up great and still gets plenty loud for me. It definitely has less output than my 2 BMs, but those were 2 ported subs versus 1 sealed sub, I 100% expected that.

Also, there seems to be fewer peaks and valleys through the frequency range with the Mag. I am not sure if this is due to it being a sealed box or because of the Mag itself, but it's a more linear frequency response than my BMs had.

I must note however that if you are at all looking for SPL, this is not the sub for you, it can get loud, but it is not an SPL sub at all. Also, it is designed to take a Maximum of 1000 watts, it does not need 1000 watts, 500 should do fine in most cases, especially since it is only a 3 dB difference, barely audible.

now we need a worthy review...

Actually that's not even the same basket. The spokes are different and the raised sections on the back are curved. I saw both baskets (along with a TON more) while I was in China. It's close though. I don't understand why people keep posting images of similar baskets. How many speakers use the 12 spoke basket? I suppose it is hard to see anything though since the motor is totally hidden and you can't see the spider or leads very well.

I think thats much of the problem, the basket is very different from the standard stuff so much that some think its a one off creation or so and then go OH lookie here when they find something that uses a similar basket, while with the 12-spoke its just so widely used that everyone knows its a generic basket.

Least I know thats how I was at one time not too long ago, same with the 4-spoke basket on the Treo subs and older TC subs and I think the Sundown SD subs. Its different enough to make you think its new but then ya start seeing it in a few places and after a while realize its just another generic basket.

Are you kidding me? 3db difference is barely audible? Try 3db louder is perceived as twice as loud to the human ear. You might want to try reading and learning before you start spouting off info.

twice the sound intensity mathematically, but not twice as loud to the human ear...

mr. bose is supposedly an EE student. He should've known that.

I guess twice the sound intensity as you say is "barely audible"

Ah, excuse my wording error. But I guess it doesn't matter who's right on that one as it's "barely audible" according to Mr. Bose. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
