Stereo Integrity BM update

The rolls change shape, but the compliance of the spider itself is not progressive. The end result is a compliance curve that isn't a curve at all, it's a straight line, which is perfect for a sealed only driver.
Ahh yes, a spider with progressively larger rolls does provide a linear restoring force. It's one of those drive on a parkway/park on a driveway things.

I need to stop posting so early in the morning.

Nice work with the parts matching.

LOL!! Good analogy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Sexy. I take it the blue on the outer XBL^2 gap is some form of a shorting ring? Nice touch. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Too bad your drivers wouldn't work IB, well they would work but probably not well, or they'd be my next driver choice for sure.
It seems to me that if you have the room behind the driver to run it infinite baffle, you wont be required to use a shallow mount sub in most cases anyway. Designing this sub as a sealed-only driver was smart, it fits most applications a 'shallow mount' is intended for.

Good point there. Plus there are some really nice IB drivers already out there. The Fi IB3 looks promising as does the AE IB15.

That's a snazzy looking motor //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's an impressive looking driver, and I can't wait to see them in production.

I agree, but my only qualm with the drivers I'll be using is that they are 40lbs a piece, even without a box for them they still add quite a bit of weight.

However, I'll probably keep the drivers I have until the cone esplodes, then I'll consider swapping to another driver.
