Steps in Box making

Hey, so I have been trying to figure out what all needs to be done to make a box. Like what I need and how I should make it. But the box I want to make is the RE ported box on the site (http://www.reaudio.com). But I am still not sure on how to do it. Should I just go by what they have on there site. And what materials do I need to make it sound the best. And how do you tune a Box? I also wanted to cover the box in sheets of carbon fiber, it will be going in my WRX so I think it will look pretty cool. So if any one could lead me in the right direction, please let me know. just build the box with the exact dimensions on the site... i did and it turned out fine.. use would glue, MDF wood, and inch-2inch screws and you'll be set

I think he wants to know how big to make the port to tune it to 32hz or whatever the recommended is for them subs

No thats not it they have different dimensions for different tuning's. Since I havent had to much experience with wood and such, I more or less wanted plans with step by step instructions and if I should glue the whole box together then screw. Chief

well every box ive seen built, the piece is glued and brad nailed or stapled down then once the box is completed it has a silicon seal run on the inside seams

keeps it together...lots of pressure is mounted up inside the box...so the silicone helps keep it together...

yup.

the silicone forms no bond at all. you could literally peel it off.

right it is to seal it so no air leaks out. its not an adhesive really its for airtight factors. Only air you want leaving is through your port.

Screw six pieces of wood together and cut a hole in it ... Done
No need for glue, silicone, ports, etc.
