Stay away from onlinecarstereo.com! Worst. Customer. Service. Ever.

Based on the positive reviews from this website I put in an order at online car stereo for two items back in January. One item showed up within a week as ordered, the other (a Kicker wiring install kit) ended up being on backorder.

After two weeks, I emailed them for an ETA and was told it would ship around February 20th at the latest.

Of course, the wiring kit never shipped out. As I can not install my stereo without wiring I have been trying to cancel my order. They have a delightful policy where you can not cancel any order via email.

Three times over the last week I have waited on hold for 30 minutes at a stretch for someone to pick up the phone before I became discouraged. That may not seem like a long time, but when you have to press "1" every 25 seconds to renew your call it gets old fast.

Today, after 26 minutes on hold, I was able to get a live person on the line to cancel my order. They say that it was canceled, but refuse to send me an email confirmation that it was canceled.

The kicker (pun intended) is that the item has been for sale the entire time, with no mention of it being on backorder.

The turnaround service for in stock items is great, but you are pretty much screwed if something is on backorder. They really need to hire more people to answer the phone.

 
I had a really good experience with them. sory to hear it though....
x2... I ordered about $850 worth of stuff from them a few weeks ago and recieved it that following week.... never had to call them about anything at all... sorry man...

****, sorry to hear about that man .. Like others have said also , Ive ordered massive amounts of stuff from them without one problem .. I would send a email explaining about your issue and see what they can do to help you out .

 
i have ordered over 4 HU's, 2 amps, and some wiring accessories over the years from them. I have not had any problems with them. Sorry to hear, but i think you are one of few who has had a problem with them.

 
I see someone got the reference.
The amp I ordered arrived quickly, well packaged and at a great price. I can see why some people love the online car stereo experience.

I believe a company should let you know at the time of ordering if an item is on backorder. If it is not currently in stock, let people know.

If somebody wants to cancel an order, it should not be such a hassle.

I have reordered the part through hooked on tronics, I would love to hear how my new stereo sounds!

3.3/10 is there rating look at all the complaints
not to totally contradict all those ratings, but most of those reviews i read, the people didnt even know what the hell they were ordering. One of the top ones said he ordered a pair of 4 way coaxils and they wound up being 3 way. I mean if that is the kind of people complaining then everyone should have a terrible reputation.

 
yeah u get a lame a** experience every blue moon, but you have to see that most of these sites are not big companys. So when it comes to costumer experience crutchfield.com is the best. Wonder why? because they sale everything at retail price, hence autorized (I think I spelled that right) dealer thru the company (ex. Kicker, JVC, etc). But when you see something 100 to 200 bucks cheaper than there site, you say hey! screw them, their cheaper! So u get the same as in service.
