8" ID V3 for 250.00?

Anyone ever heard of paying 250.00 for a USED 8" Image Dynamics V3? The pawn shop I went to for a used PS2 had some ID subs, saying that they were 400.00 brand new and they will sell them for 250.00 cuz they are used. Why the **** are pawn shops so ridiculous
