static?

I bought some alpine 6x9 sps-6939s and when i play songs with alot of midbass and highs i hear alot of static. But when there is alot of base or when it's really high i dont hear it. I went to a installer and he said to turn up the high pass filter i'm not sure though?

Are you running them off an amp or the head unit? Playing burned cd's? Radio? Could be a number of things. Could try the filters too though.

yeah i just got off my azz and fixed the crossovers i had the speakers set to about 50hrtz which is too low for three ways, thats what i should have my sub set at. I had to turn them up to about 100 hrtz before the static went away.

yeah what ever you wanna call it is fine with me i don't know any of those big fancy words like "distortion"
