I have an alpine cda-9885 that is 16months old and the other day while listening to the radio I noticed static in the background, same on AM and I thought it was odd to hear it when I played a cd. So far it seems random.
I called a tech at alpine and he said that the amp might be going on the unit and that it's $95 to repair if it is out of warranty, I called
crutchfield to see when I bought it and of course it is 4months past a year. I called alpine again to see what another tech would say, he said that a speaker might be going or it could be one of my external amps.
I got the vehicle with an ads amp and bazooza tube already installed and later I added a second amp and 2 more pairs of speakers running off that amp for additional fill; and it has been like that for several years running fine. Then I changed my old clarion cassette hu for the alpine 9885.
Do these symptoms sound like they point to a specific problem? Thanks and sorry for any confusion.
