Static noise when engine is running? fix?

Ok i have this noise when my engine is running, and its like a static noise. It's not a whining noise, its like static. IF i unhook the amp it doesnt make the noise anymore. someone told me i needed to get a filter that you put on to your RCA cables. Would this fix it or is there something else wrong?

are you running your RCAs with your power wire? if so simply run the RCAs down the other side of your car
