Zing, lol! Have to admit, that was pretty good!I'm sorry but no normal person does that when buying a car.
Also don't you own an S-10?

Yes I do.I'm sorry but no normal person does that when buying a car.

Do they still make s-10's?Yes I do.
I do not see how that matters. I buy GM and only GM because they are a smart company. They do not redesign vehicles every 20 days like import cars do. They usually keep the same body style for 5 or 10 years.
This allows them to reduce costs of parts due to economies of scale. It also makes the job easier on the assembly line workers as they become very familiar with the ins and out of the car, thus more likely to do a better job. They have sufficient time to work out the kinks and problems as well.
This all makes cost of ownership cheaper.
I bought an s-10 around 99 and spent 17,800 and sold it two years later for a mild 9500! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I did all the blue books around too and sold it just a little under it.I do not see my ownership of an S-10 as a diss. It has good resale demand, plentiful in junkyards, cheap parts, great aftermarket support, share similar parts with a variety of GM vehicles for crossing parts.
It is the vehicle I wanted. I don't see I could have got something better by purchasing a lexus, a mercedes, or a corvette? Perhaps you can explain how the instrinsic value of these vehicles are so much greater?
No.Do they still make s-10's?
It's a way of determining value.
For instance, when I buy things I try to think about all the variables that add up to price.
For instance, I would like know whether the price comes from :
expensive parts
high quality technical labor
high cost machines that do "a job" with great precision
executive pay
dividends to shareholder's etc.
Knowing these things can better help me evaluate what I am getting in a purchase.
So you used that criteria when purchasing it? It seems like your logic flipped when I asked about your S-10Yes I do.

Yes. But I did not want a Colorado, now did I. I fail to find this point relevant.I think they are the Colorados or something like that now. So wouldnt that mean they changed?
I am sorry you do not know when to make investments. I am glad you are not a financial advisor.I bought an s-10 around 99 and spent 17,800 and sold it two years later for a mild 9500! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I did all the blue books around too and sold it just a little under it.
Explain....So you used that criteria when purchasing it? It seems like your logic flipped when I asked about your S-10
So you researched GM's stock, then looked up how much their executives made? And this determines the quality of the car how?Explain....
logic did not flip....
I used both criteria, I guess I should have included my previous statement with my further explanation. Minus one for lack of clarity, I suppose.
flip's logic did flip. his explanation is sound enough, i suppose. japanese cars cost the same simply because they can. don't forget import tax as well, which will automatically add a good grand or three to the final price. also, people want to overpay, and are willing to do so, that's why japanese cars are price the same as american cars when they really could be slightly less. however, those cars don't sell as well: see kia, hyundai, isuzu, daewoo, etc. manafacturers like toyota, nissan, and honda, could easily cut off a few grand on their final price, but they don't need to. it wouldn't signficantly effect their sales. they make specific cars for those that want a toyota, nissan, or a honda on the cheap. for the rest, they sell the camrys, civics, and maximas of the world to them for as much as their willing to pay. and it seems that everytime they put out one of these cars, people are always willing to pay the asking price. if they didn't, i'm sure they would cut down the price or target the car to a demographic that is willing to pay their designated price. So you researched GM's stock, then looked up how much their executives made? And this determines the quality of the car how?
You were also able to find out what factories your truck was made in, somewhere in Mexico and was able to find out the machinery used?
I said that about the Colorado before you did, so I was just saying that the new models was the Colorado. You must have failed to read before posting. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gifYes. But I did not want a Colorado, now did I.
