hey as you can see i'm new

i have a 98 crown victoria and i purchased a set of JL ZR 5x7 and a pair of xr 5x7 , now my next step is slow because i'm looking at a 300/4 and a amp. kit for the car , i will be adding a second amp so i wanted to get some advice in wich kits to get and the price they run.

also i'm thinking of going with a 10w6 for a sub and a 500/1 for bass.

well any suggestions woill help and any other advice is welcomed.

glad to be here also.

any reason you are choosing JL, not to knock them cuz i've owned some of they're stuff (PS, i have a 300/4 for sale) but u can allso find great stuff thats not JL that has a better price and will still sound great. saving money can also let you spend it on other stuff to. if you are looking for wiring kits. look at knu knocepts (i think that how it's spelled) they sell some great stuff there.

well no reason at all, i had a 12w7 in the past and it sounded amaizing and i wanted to continue to go with the brand. i been seeing knuknoncets beeing mentioned around the forum so i am thinking of going that route. just wich one to get is the thing if i add another amp later on. how much are you selling your 300/4 ?

well the one i am looking at was the klm-k4 or the kol-ak44 but how can i find out if it's good for two amps ? why are you selling the amp. also what do you about the set up ?

selling the amp, i got it free of my cusin after someone totalled the front end of his neon. i used it for 2 weeks to make sure it still work. but i'm selling it to get a Xtant to match the Xtant 6.2 i'm running for the substage. what kinda price are u wanting to spend on the wire. and do u need RCA wires to?

saying your car is a crown vic, witch is a BIG car, i would go with the KOL-AK4. its allways wise to have more wire than not enough. plus i'm not a big fan of the inline fuse holder myself

i have some Rockford fos. rca's. for the pice on wires i think around 100 bucks would do. i think the package that i was looking for comes with rca's.

they both did. i like the idea that they have the remote wire built into them also. i wish i knew bout them when i did my install. but i think 4ga will be a little small for a 300/4 and a 500/1 going at the same time.

well if i wanted to get the wires on it's own what would i need to get ? iam letting the shop do it so i can also let them provide the wires but i wanted to keep price down if i can get something cheaper.

also can i get the speakers installed and then add the amp ?

i had both the 300/4 and 500/1 hooked up with 8ga power wires from a dist block with 4ga between the block and battery. never had a poroblem. but in case you decide to go bigger someday, just run two 4ga wires from the battery with an inline fuse on each. which would probably be cheaper than a power kit anyway.

Your def going to need a lot of wire to get to that trunk. I have a 04 Crown Vic and I have measured it a few times, it takes about 22' of wire to reach from the battery to the trunk.
