I just purchased a 97 GMC 1500 and it has no front speakers and only one in the rear works but this speaker only works on hot days lol I have no clue how to fix this and the shop wants 50 just to figure out what's wrong. I'm thinking just start from scratch and install all new speaker wire, aftermarket head and wire power myself. I've priced it and this will run 80 bucks or so and that seems better than 50 to tell me I have a problem lol. So far it looks like I need a fuse tap to run power right into the existing radio fuse in my fuse panel and then run wires to the speaker locations from the dash I have heard of using the lighter for my remote wire but it's always hot in this truck with or without the truck on so where can I run the remote also an I missing anything so far? Or is this already explained on here somewhere?
