Started sound deadening my bug today...

for deadening a whole car you're gonna need a LOT more deadener than that. What you're installing is a damper type product. An absorber type product like ensolite would also be helpful.

he has a bug because they f'ing rule......and the round roofs are awesome when the subs are placed behind the rear seat......it sounds like they're right on top of your head......i know, i use to own a 72 and a 74....both super beetles....had my first system in one and it was pretty awesome......2 10" fultron comps in a bandpass custom built for them pushed by an old crossfire bridged at around 400w.......**** nice ride........

Because for under 5 grand he can have a stroked, twin induction, twin turbo 600+ hp 8 second BEAST.

And not to mention, with the right wheels, smack a bug to the ground, and they're the sickest rides, and the dash is SUPER easy to customize.

Wait until I build my next one.

back when i was into bugs in the early 90's you could get a turn key long block stroker that was about 500hp on pump gass for $4500......

i'm not sure what the prices are today but if it's closer to 10K i might have to skip going for major power when i get my next one

edit: i need to pick up a new copy of vw trends or hot vw's and see

they are awesome cars, and fun to build.

My 40ft order of edead will be here friday, so expect a weekend install.

to build a SOLID RELIABLE FAST motor that will do 10's.....your looking at 10k easily. the little 5k motors may do 10's.............but for how long? most VW motors need a rebuild after every drag season.

lol, mine didnt. At 5 to 15 psi, it was EXTREMELY streetable. And was producing almost 400 hp. (at 17 psi, it was 401 hp). At 26 psi it was over 500.

Now, you cant run 26 psi ALL DAY LONG....close to impossible. Plus the heat would not keep the HP there. But if you were easy on it, say 10 psi all day, and bumped it to 17 to drag, you hit low 11s, easily. Slide it to 26, and watch the double digits go away.

Remember, bugs dont weigh NEARLY as much as today's cars.

no they dont, but they arent exactly reliable motors either. drag bugs get rebuilt every 2 years id say, motor wise. from my experience.
