I made that sound awkward.

What I meant was the price for smartstart is $500 without a viper system already. The module and app do not justify this price at all, let alone buying an alarm to accompany it and end up with the smartstart for $300 instead.

This is before installed as well.

Also this is before the annual $30 fee to use the app.

Horrible investment until the product actually starts doing what it is advertised.

The C-3 autopage deal looks alot more legit, but they have some ridiculous annual fee it looks like.

Potential technology with failed marketers.

The $1,000 is with the Viper 5901, thats the top Viper on the market. I can do it with other Vipers too.

Wait, so the 500 is on top of the price of the alarm? I have a Clifford 50.5x already installed. I believe equivalent to a viper 5900. Can that be added to what I already have?

no if u already have a compatible viper alarm, u spend 299, at most places, to get the start smart add on. if u dont already have an alarm, u spend 499, thats it. its 499 and it comes with the alarm, remote start, and the module to connect to the iphone.

Ok you need to have a viper alarm/remote start or just remote start from viper that I know of. These are the models it works with..

Security/Remote Start Systems:

Viper 5902

Viper 5901

Viper 5701

Viper 5601

Remote Start Systems:

Viper 5501

Viper 5301

Viper 5101

Then you need a bypass if your car requires it. So you will be looking at buying either a alarm/remote start or just remote start. Then you will need a smart start module(vsm100). And a bypass module if your car requires it. Here is link to a vss4000 which is a remote start from viper with the smart start module for $465.00.. You dont need a alarm for this to work but its nice to have.
