1 Kicker 1200-Watt KX.1 Class D Amp

That is what I currently have. I am wondering if I can get an amp and a sub for around $200-$300 to push my sound up more. What should I get?

BTW someone said since my AMp is on 2 channels it should be pumping 1800 watts for the L5's. So that should leave 600 more watts if I wanted to put in another sub?

I don't think they are right. I thought my amp was putting out 600 watts on 2 channels?

That is all I got on it currently. This summer I am lowering it 1.5". Putting on some 18" Chrome Saleens. Painting it pure black around winter. Then dropping in an 03 v8. It's a project.

first of all, in my opinion that amp is way too powerful for those two subs. itll push 650-700 or so watts for each sub, when they are only rated at handling 450. second, your mono amp has one channel, you cannot make it have 2 channels. you can put 2 subs on one channel so thats probably what the person meant. third, you cant just add subs willie nillie! you will blow your amp and/or subs really fast!

do you know the ohms of your subs? 2 or 4 per coil? this will make a difference on how many watts you are pushing now and whether or not you can safely add a sub. that amp is 1 ohm stable, but adding another sub in parallel will put the phms at something liek .67 ohms. not exactly a good idea. however that could put it close to 1800 watts, itll fry the amp. however doing it right, ou could pull off a 3rd sub and make it safe for the amps and all subs. i **** at odd number sub wiring but someone who knows more could help you out.

btw, im getting 2 10" L5s in my mustang as well! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
