SSA Icon Question

To answer a few questions and explain, I mentioned a while back that we were going to stay around $250, did not think people were going to be so surprised when we came in under for the 10 and 12. The RMS is set very conservative, we have to do that. As as I said in a previous topic the prototype took well into 1200+ watts no sweat and probably could have taken more but I did not want to trash a sub meant for SQ by sending way way more power then intended. We could easily set the RMS at 1000 or even 1200, but we are a small company with all funding being out of our own pockets. So at this time, we don't want to risk inexperienced users who see a 1100 watt rms and give it 1700 watts of clipped signal thinking it can take it. We don't have the resources or the time to be doing loads of re-cones because someone is sending it way too much power in a bad install because we set our rms wattage up a little higher, its not worth it.

Price is not based on rms wattage, and we would rather sell on performance and reliability instead of a wattage ratting. Just look at the video of the 2 15" ICONs in Marks truck, they are almost laughing at the Kicker amp. If we had more money, the 2500.1 would have been the choice. A Sundown 3000D might find its way into that truck later on. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

For price/rms wattage example (not a comparsion), look at the IDMAX, its rms is only 100 watts higher, with only 3mm more xmax, but it costs nearly double.

I didn't post this in the other thread because I mean no disrespect. So I didn't want to dump on their thread.
Is it just me or were others of you expecting this sub to end up being cheaper than it is? I mean, I haven't heard one so I'm not saying its overpriced or not worth it. Just from the posted specs I expected it to be a little cheaper.

Let me simplify it for alot of you on here, it has SSD specs and a Q price.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
I think the price looks alright, but I'm looking forward to more reviews.

Probably not a really important question but, did any one find out who is the built house for these subs yet? yeah any ways nice looking new toy I would like to get my hands on though.

i ordered the 15 =)
THANKS FOR THE ORDER! your sub is being built tomorrow and should ship out very soon after that. Thanks for all the nice thoughts on these subs, like Aaron said, the RMS is very underrated at just for the "uneducated user factor". Don't judge a book by it's cover, you'll see the reviews soon enough and we are more then sure you'll like what you see and hear!@

i was actually looking for a sub rated below 900w...my stock alt cant handle anything too crazy so i think i might go with a 12 or 15.

it was a throwup between another rlp, a fi q, or a Mag...but then this thing popped up and woo hoo! although im kinda wondering how efficient it is.
