Ssa Icon or sundown x?

I have actually tried most of the choices you have, Xcon 15(single), Zcon 15(pair), Zcon 12(pair), X10(pair), zv4 12(single) and also HD 12(pair). Ranking these from best sounding to worst i would go Havocs(not listed as a choice), Zcon, Xcon, HD's, zv4, X's. All were on rms power or a little more in optimal boxes other than the Zcon 12's, but they still sound f'in great.

Will do. Prob won't get started until early Summer...ya know, when the weather gets nicer!!
Yea, the weather has put a damper on my build(s) too. Between track, weather, work, school, and social life its hard to find time to build. I'm just waiting on equipment to arrive right now.

Funny how no one like the x or z series Sundown subs in this forum yet other forums they love them.
I think it's user error.
Funny how on other sites Sundown can do no wrong. If people can not see that then you might as well be blind. There was obviously enough people who didn't like the sound that Jake came out with an explanation of its sound so people would settle down. Take it as you will. I gave the x-12 4 boxes for it to show me something and didn't like any of them. It was muddy. Some may like that sound and I am not saying the sub is bad. I will however voice my opinion that if the subs mentioned in the op are the options then the x is at the bottom of the list. If you run the specs of the X and the Flatlyne for example, the X should be even more to my liking of low end extension. Put them in the boxes though and the Flatlyne will walk all over it in quality of sound generated.

The x can still sound how u want with out even changing the soft parts lol people buy and x and zv4 and seems to just tune stupid low I'm tuned to 38hz with zv4s and play from 26hz-50hz I play **** near everything

The extra weight from the heavy surround increases MMS which is going to reduce excursion
There's a reason people tend to gain when they switch from the "mega roll" surround subs to others.
No when ppl switch they gain in the 38hz + range.. Just like if someone switched from zv3 to a zv4 they would gain in the lower hz.

Ok I want it to play flat and clean down to 25 hz. What should I tune for that?

If I graph that it is a spike and no where near flat. What makes you think that setup is anywhere near my requirements?
1st off, I thought you were the OP

2nd off, why the **** are you asking questions about your setup in someone else's thread?

3rd off, if you have a ****** graph that you can use to "show you it's peaky and flat" why the **** are you on here asking us what should you tune to, you narcissistic neanderthal

1st off, your mistake not mine

2nd off, it is not my setup

3rd off, That was my way of showing that there are tons of people on here who are shoveling garbage information with no idea what they are talking about. The original OP asked for loud but without sounding like garbage. Therefore you need to give information based on hard evidence such as tsp numbers or in relation to other subs that are also being thought of. 10 people just saying get the X because sundown is awesome is in no way useful when trying to find the right setup. Don't like it tuff.
