Ssa Icon or sundown x?

which would do better on about 2k rms and a custom box built to there specs for daily setup aiming for loud spl but sounds really good while getting loud. Between the ssa icon and sundown x. Maybe even the ssa Zcon?

Either is a decent choice.. I'd get X with nsv2 coil and I would handle power great and still get movin with that softer x spiders

you want loud low low notes or just loud overall? i'd go with an Xcon for loud overall and good sound or a Zv3. If you want heavy low low notes, then go with the sundown X

I listen to rap but my gf listens to country and pop so idk how well the x would do with country and pop

go with an Xcon, it'll hit all your low rap notes easily and hit everything pop and country related just fine with its great top end extension, one of the best SQL woofers out there. The X series is for people who listen purely to decaf and slowed modified bass music. If you really want to go with sundown, choose the standard surround instead of the mega roll.

Okay I had heard the x was a sq sub but kinda was wondering about that since its a low end monster.

The X and Zv4 are inefficient subs due to the heavy moving mass. I personally don't like how they sound either. I like Sundown's products, but not the X and Zv4.

An ICON/XCON/ZCON would be more efficient and probably sound better too. The XCON is the most SQ oriented of the group with a shorting ring and also probably the most well suited for your power, followed by the smaller icon, and then there's the ZCON which is a SPL monster with tons of motor force that still has the potential to sound great. I've heard many SSA setups and never been disappointed with any of them, and their customer service is also amazing.

I ran 2-X15's on 4k and i have to agree with the above statements.Great subs for rap/decaf..Didn't do as well on rock/metal(which i listen to the majority of the time)..Now when i ran my Zcon 18 on a Memphis Mojo 4k that thing was awesome!Played any kind of music i could throw at it and sounded dam good doing it.Only sub i regret selling tbh.Just my exp with the X and Zcon.Good luck.

The sundown x and zv4 can be built in any way u want. If u want it to sound like a triditional woofer get the x with spl cone ad surround, it will rase the fs a lot and give u the sound ur going for... I'm so sick of ppl saying Sundowns only play low, NO build them according to what your goals are.

That's just be a waste of money to buy and have to recone... Put the sub in another price class...

What about a Tantric HD.

Do you have a 2000rms amp or you have a bigger amp and you are going to run 2000rms?

I would personally either do a Tantric HD or SSA XCON.

I have two PPI ba 7000.1d but I don't see them putting out more than 2000 watts a piece at 1 ohm. Only going to run one to begin with until I can get more battery's. How does the tantric hd compare in spl and sq to the Zcon?

I'm leaving for basic Monday so I'm just planning the system I want and going to buy when I get out. If I had the cash on me now i would for sure buy them.
