Please i need help with my box design for 2 soundsplinter rl-p 15's... It is going in a 2001 grand am i had a box built but the tuning was a 32hz i kinda think that is 2 low kinda want it 2 be at 38-40 hz if thats right kinda new please help....

If you were running two 15" RL-Ps at 32hz tune, you shouldn't be able to hear anymore.

Why? They're not that loud, more of an SQL sub.

32Hz is a good tune for the RL-P's. I ran 2 in the trunk of my altima in about 7 cubes @ 32Hz. Sounded very nice and got pretty loud. Also had to do 2 separate enclosures. Grand Am trunk seems even smaller, so good luck making them fit in a single enclosure...

If someone told me "yeah, my setup isn't that loud, I'm looking to upgrade" and then said they were running dual RL-P 15s, I'd smack them in the face. Tuning them high is just going to make it worse. They like to play low and like to breathe. Threadstarter, what enclosure are you using? I'm pretty sure the problem is in the application.

They're very nice subs, but not SPL monsters. I didn't consider mine quiet, but I wanted more kick outta kick drums. AQ's definitely hit harder and still sound good.

RL-P's are now beating my house to death in the HT. Each one is in 10cubes @19Hz.

x2 on NOT tuning them high, they'll sound like ***...

Maybe the subs just arent loud enough for him... Its only 2 15s in the trunk. You can be pretty sure he isnt much over a 145, if that. And even if he was at a 145, its still not that loud.

my rl-p 12's dont mind 32hz thats what my box is tuned to. seems to rip apart my car quite nicely actually

Im just saying, maybe 2 sq oriented 15s in his trunk just isnt loud enough for him.

trunk builds arent the easiest thing to get loud 145s out a trunk aint bad at all, but what kind of power is he runnin to the subs?

i was running a hifonics 1600 watt brutus at 2 ohm (yeah i know not that much it was a friends amp) but i just ordered a hifonics 2600 watt amp so it should be alot louder... and by the way back seat not trunk (4-door)

32hz was the sweet spot in my car as I tried 30 & 34 and didn't care for either as much. RL-P's don't like to be tuned high. At 32 they can get plenty low, sound good, and get respectably loud. Around 750watts per sub should do nicely as they're not power hungry subs...

I have no idea if his car will do a 145... I was just saying that is most likely the max that it could possibly do with the way its setup in there.

Maybe 145 isnt enough for him.
