Sronger ground my Vic

Alright did everything over far as my grounds up front and in the trunk. Now the problem im running into is....while my grounds for the two back batts are short as possible. The grounds coming from my two 1500.1's are about 3ft apiece just to get to the batteries. My ground to the frame is only a foot and a half to the batts. My voltage drops the same on my voltmeter when testing batts in the back at full tilt BUT.......my dash battery meter is dropping more than it was when I had my ground on that filmsy sheet metal why is that. Thought that grouding to the frame would of solve my voltage dropping.

So now my questions are can I just ground amps back on the sheet metal and keep batts grounded to the frame or do the amps have to be grounded on batt terminals

um, well, the thing is- that you are using the frame, not the body as your main grounding, so the little brace is going to try to draw through the little engine ground strap..... either go to the frame with them, or move off the frame, and onto the trunk floor, and firewall up front.

Can u be a lilttle more clear.....when u say go to the frame with them or move them offf the frame and on to the trunk floor what are u talking about.....I need to move my grounds to the frame.

Have not read the whole thread so forgive me if this is redundant but I was having some problems with a few of my bigger amps where they would either shut off, slip into protect, or just sound really $hitty at extreme volume from time to time. Swore my ground was good but took somebodies advice and ran a ground wire directly to the battery up front(I have the big 3 done up front as well,no extra batts). No issues after this was done. Its like I got a whole new amp for the price of a run of 2/0. Amp is way cleaner sounding and louder to the ear now. First time I ever had a ground issue like that.

plus you need to shorten your amps grounds. that should help you also.
So would u say that because my amp grounds are too long that this is the issue for the voltage drops....

Akheathen i still dont understand what u were trying to say about the engine strap and what i needed to move,,,,please clarify

What I'm saying, is that the body, frame, and engine are 3 separate electrical bodies...... So, if you move the amp ground to the body, then you won't get the full current the way I understand how you have it....

Okay let me simplify this alil.....both back batts have seperate grounds (0ga) going to the same spot on the frame. So both batts are grounded to the frame in the same location. Okay they come up thru the trunk and both grounds are about a foot and a half from the frame to neg batt terminals. Okay each mono block amp has its own batt.....so one amp is hook to one batt and the other amp to the other batt both the pos. and the neg. Now both amp grounds are longer than I would want them to be which is bout 2-3ft from the neg battery terminal to amp neg.

Now since ive grounded everything to the frame like so (big 3 up front).....when im in my car and turn on the bass full tilt from my drivers seat and looking at my dash battery meter, when the bass hit man that batt meter goes down pretty good like its juicing my power. THIS WASNT HAPPENING when is had my amps ground to the flimsy peice of sheet metal. When the bass use to hit the batt meter barely moved (THIS IS WHAT I NEED SOMEBODY TO EXPLAIN).

I will leave my batts ground to the frame BUT.....to shorten my amp ground to the battery (which is 2-3feet)should I put my amp grounds back on the sheet metal. This is the only way I know to shorten them
