Im new to the site and I have a few questions. I have a 96 Crown Vic and im going to be running 4 l7 12's off of 2 zx1500.1's Im trying to find a good enough ground to support my current flow. Ive already have a setup 3 l7 12's on a zx 1500.1 and a 750.1 which will be changed out later. I had my back two batts (running off a single 0ga ground)to the frame. The voltage reads 14.2 with my car running with the batteries grounded to the frame. But when I touch my the power to cut my 4 amps on it reads 13.54v. Noted everything is 0ga front to back big 3 up front. Is this a weak ground or is my ground cable too long....its about 2ft i know. I need some help.

Wont let me post any pics why is that

Its reading 14.2 by the amps and batteries.....but thats when its grounded to the loose piece of sheet metal. When i had it grounded to the frame it read 13.54. I got less voltage when i grounded it to the frame. But the funny thing is when i disconnect the power from my amps......then it reads 14.2. And when I touch the power to the positive terminal it shoots back down to 13.54.

seeing if its is something in you wiring or in your batts,
also what do your batts rest at individually
This. We need to see how much voltage drop there is between your electrical while at rest, in comparison to when the system is on and bumping. Disconnect the batts from each other to find their individual resting voltages.

12.62v off 14.2v on. Question why cant i post any pics.....i tried a got denied. Is there a special thread for this

Can somebody direct me to a thread on here that have multiple battery setups. Just post em dont care how many links cause i need to brainstorm on how my setup can be done

if you ground to the frame, you need it to be the same capability on both ends. there is usually not a very strong connection to the frame itself, raather to the firewall, via ground-strap from the engine. i think using the floorboard/firewall to pass current is usually the way to go, but that is my opinion. however, i did use the frame on my Toyota to carry the current between all batteries and alternators, but that was an easy access, and 2-part body scenario.
