Thanks, that is the first thing I did and I forget why, but they cannot beef this one up. They also told me not to beef up the alt. wires, due to the type of factory wire used. I think it is called square wire or something like that. They said it would produce too much current and burn up.

Anyone ever heard of this? A half hour of search button love left me flacid and dissapointed

I have heard others saying that they received advice from Ohio Gen about never using anything larger than 4 awg wire from the alt to the battery. I do not know the science behind it, but I do know that if Gus gave that advice, it was because he has many years of experience doing this and has a reason.

 
The wire size from the alt can be 1/0, 2/0 with no problem.

The design of the alternators is prohibitive to rewinding of modifying. I can't explain all the details of how and why, but it's the same way on my Dodge.

Mechman can build you an alternator that will fit in teh factory location that will produce more power if that is what you need.

Ya, I trust this too, but i kinda want to know why larger wire wont work, doesnt make sense to me

Thats what i was thinking too, makes sense in my head
