Square vs Round Subwoofers

You're comparing 2 different size subwoofers. A 10 inch square WILL provide more bass than a 10 inch rounded, a 12 inch square WILL provide more bass than a 12 inch rounded.Smaller subs like an 8 inch will hit lower notes more efficiently.

And yeah, no **** they both play sub bass:laugh: that's why they're called subwoofers
oh really? I doubt that. Reading is one thing but real world testing/experiencing is totally 2 diff things. Too many variables in this equation.

8"-15" can hit lower notes, efficiently is errelavant.

This information was collected from http://www.SonicElectronix.com. They kinda know what they're doing in my opinion.I think I trust their judgement over some guy on a car audio forum, but thanks for your input.
Hey guys I got a funny @ss story to tell you. This noob was shopping around and looking at sonicelectronix and discovered their OLD OLD OLD and oudated articles and started acting like hot sh*t on the forum thinking he knows what he's talking about. Talking to guys that's been in this hobby longer than since when the guys in sonicelectronix had their balls drop.

Best of all HE believes in that bigger subs play lower myth LMFAOOO. Bro do you even BASS? Loudest setup he's ever heard is probably a kicker in a prefab box thats 1/4 the size needed to get loud. He probably thinks JL, rockford and kicker are the only brands in existence worth a sh*t as well and never experienced true bass...

Whatever he's sonic electronix educated must mean he's an expert compared to people who live, and breath car audio all their lives and achieved trophies in the lanes. He doesnt realize when he posts bullsh*t and misinformation, he's gonna get his @ss handed to him to prevent idiots from spreading falsified info around

.... oh wait this isn't facebook oops!

you can't even compare those to together, you know how much price difference your talking
sorry bud, but youre going up against Jeff LOSISATOOL, boomin and KR, and your opinion is different than theirs, therefore youre probably wrong. not joking, read some of each of their previous posts, youll find that they know their sh1t

I don't want our opinions to be different. I want him to figure it out on his own.

To understand how output works. How it takes two specs. Well it takes much more then two specs but for apples to apples.

Cone area and excursion. How much air it can displace.

Not even mentioning the box because that can be worked around

I'm confused...he claims the article is from his site, but then claims it's from SonicElectronix? Regardless the article is junk. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

Saying a 10" square woofer is better than a 10" round is similar to saying a 12" round is better than a 10" round. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif

so im guessing you're doing this for SEO of your website? or is that not your website?

you realize these are nofollow links, and you're getting little to no authority by backlinking your article here (what i presume is your article)

ask me how i know, im not talking out my ***

just to keep this thread on track, the only difference between square and circular (in an ideal circumstance) is surface area. from an engineering perspective there's more to it than that, but im not going to go down that road.

They KINDA know what they're doing....seems a bit fishy to me, like he's not sure if he should belive them or not.

On that note, zero_ohms tried pulling the same BS on us. Then someone found the JL Audio article he copied/pasted from. Tried to sound smart on here.

It's not like L7's are garbage subs

They get loud if used right

I would NEVER pay retail for one though

Far better can be had for far cheaper

And op stick around and do some reading on here

There is lots to learn and if you do have questions people on here can help to answere them
