SQ System build

System will be put in a 2008 Nismo 350z

Here is what I have so far:

Pioneer Z2

US Amps MD 43 (100x4)

CDT Audio ES-620 6.5 inch components (I have an extra set as well listed in FS Section)

Here is the question....

Due to the small size of the 350 I am going to do a pretty elaborate build to conserve as much space as possible. Also note that this is mainly (90%) a sound quality build. I have several options as to go with either one or two 12 inch subs or 2 10s. They will be put in a sealed fiberglass enclousure. What do you think I should go with in terms of how many and of what size and also what are some brands I should look at? I am ok with spending 500.00 a sub just let me know...

ive seen a box that fits under the bar in the back but i cant remember where... maby elemental designs.com

could be a space saving design and i like the subs b/c of the sq

id say a pair of 8's done right dd or the elemental design 7kv series.. lmk what you think

i say get 1 8" or 1 10" if you want mainly SQ most of the time 12"s and 15"s (depending on the manufactor) will easily beat out your components. SQ is all about blending together. I suggest a single 10"IDQv3 sealed with a good 600rms to it..... Run those comps active, and deaden the ball sack out of everything. You should have a very very nice system after that.

On the 350z you can either fix a single 10" in the side of the trink or under the rear strut tower. Some have 2 10" but I dont see there being enough air space.

Personally I like the look of the strut tower.

What do you mean by running the components active?

a seprate amp on the tweeters and the mids

well active is a very complex topic and i dont run it so i may be wrong.... but.....

Active is to run each woofer and tweeter off of its own channel on the amplifier. It requires a specific high pass and low pass setting for each woofer and tweeter. I am almost 100% possitive that your deck has the ability to run active. I think it has variable setting for each speaker. Please though, talk to someone else about it or read about it because that was very vague.

Ok then yea I will be running active..... as I am not running rears off of an amp.... they will be powered by the HU..

it is suppose to be more tunable and help you provide a better SQ setup.

But make sure that you read up on the topic so you dont damage anything. Active is the ability to run your components with the absence of a passive crossover.

i also suggest going with an IDQv.3 10 or 12 inch. I have read that going IB is the best for SQ, but i myself have never heard an IB setup. maybe someone else could dime in on this.
