SQ Music

A song should not be louder than -14db - -10db throughout a song on average this gives plenty of dynamic range, only the tom toms will clip just barely from the attack of the sound, even then its not every track(instrument) clipping its just one instrument. If you want the song louder, get a more powerful amplifier but do not degrade the recording. The loudest recorded album was around -3db( some rock band the album was called "Raw Power" from the 80s iirc) before this "Loudness War"....or should i call it "Loudness Nonsense"

"Average"? More powerfull amp?

You are an idiot plain and simple.

you should only see clipping only a few times on a track not throughout the whole song.

People refuse to turn the volume knob because they are soo lazy they want the track already loud, is it that hard to move your thumb a few degrees to the right to turn up the volume/power?

The Stooges' Raw Power was released in 1973 and stands as one of the seminal recordings of all time. Those unfamiliar with the band may have heard of its vocalist, Iggy Pop.

What the fawk are you babling about you stupid douchebag?

We were discussing a track on a song. It has nothing to do with an amplifier or a volume knob. " Average" and amplifier power are not at issue.

The track does not clip thru the whole song, he adjusted the clipping threshold to indicate clipping lower than actual clipping. That would be like saying adjusting the clock on your computer allows you to travel thru time. No, your just an idiot.

If you dont understand the issue of dynamic range in a recording then just STFU and you might learn something.

The fact is he lowered the threshhold by a decimal to show how the whole song is loud. Point is that recording sucks and the whole track should never get that loud throughout. Yes its not digitally clipping completely, but thats not what he was showing. This has everything to do with dynamic range. I only mentioned the more power to let people know you dont need a hot diminished signal to get loud.

Btw my mac has a Time Machine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Calm your *** down and stop being so confrontational. You can sit infront of a computer and go to war on something you're trying to wash out, but YOU look like the douche. While I think you did make some good points, there's no need to get all uppity.

Again, there's a difference between things we THINK are "SQ" and things that ARE "SQ." Sure you have to use your ears, but they are not very reliable. I think we can all agree that it's preferentially-based...........music selection, that is.

Maybe your right. Next time someone randomly responds to my post with "You are an idiot plain and simple" I should refrain from getting all "uppity" no matter how moronic they seem. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
