So i thought i wanted Alpine's CDA-9887 but now think i want a double din with nav. IS their anything out there that will have features and SQ of the 9887? I want to run a 3 way active setup. IS this all possible with a double din?

do you ajust the h701 via the w205 screen? Does the w205 have burr brown like the 9887 and what is burr brown? lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thats an expensive set up! The 9887 is a fraction of the cost. Does the added money just give you double din and dvd or is the combo a more superior system for tuning?

Apples to oranges. The H701 is a tuning masterpiece. It's leaps and bounds better than anything you could do with the 9887. The W205 gives you double-din, DVD, and touch screen control over the H701. You can make the W205 your hub for the rest of the system and control all kinds of stuff via the touch screen. When the second gen Blackbird comes out (hopefully soon) you will be able to dock it right inside the W205 just like putting in a CD or DVD. If you want to go balls out, this is the combo for you. If you want to save money, do what you can do. It's a decision you have to make based on your budget and level of seriousness about the hobby.

I've read the W200 interface is a little better than the 205 so if you can find a 200, might be an option, and less dinero.

This is true. When using the graphic Eq on the H701, the W200 dipslyas an actual graph, and the W205 just shows numbers and values. You don't get any kind of visual picture of the eq curve with the W205. Luckily, when i swapped out the head units, the settings in the H701 carried over, they were just translated differently.

The W205 still has advantages. The Bluetooth is a lot better. You can use the 300BT with the W205, which allows you to dial from the screen, have caller ID, scroll through phone book and call history, and dial directly from there as well. With the W200, you are stuck with the 100BT, which only has hands-free through the system, none of the on-screen dialing, caller ID, or phone lists. Also, with the W200, you cannot use that Bluetooth unit if you have the Sirius tuner. It's one or the other. With the new setup, you can have both.

Also, the W200 doesn't dock the new Blackbird. The old Blackbird sucked, imo, and being able to slide the new one into the head unit is cool as heck.

The W205 doesn't have a mute button though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif You have to use the remote.

Good luck finding a new W200. The new price on the W205 is actually cheaper than what the W200s went for anyway. You can pick up a used W200 cheaper though, I'm sure.

There has not been any mention of SQ of the IVA-W205 how does it stack to single din? I noticed that it had 2V outputs which seems low to me. Any feedback on SQ.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you are running it to a h701 you would go optical. The output voltage comes from the H701. How good the output voltage on the H701 is debatable. If just going double din no external processing then my pick would be the Eclipse AVN6610 if your not going active.IMO

Tough decision. Having a alpine upbringing I have always loved the alpines. Not trying to hijack thread here but, I will be running a alpine pdx 4. 100 amp will the 2V be that much of drop in SQ? The amp will be used for the front components and I believe I can set the crossover points there, is this considered an active setup? I have not heard the Eclipse 6610, but it is pricey.
