Pioneer deh-p690ub

has excellent pod control, its fast, pretty easy to scroll.. only a TINY bit of lag. And it still has a good equilizer at 7 bands..

If you can get it at a good price, i say go for it. Ive loved mine so far.

I had a 6800 in the past and took it back because the illumination around the dial was way to bright at night. Is this true with the 690/6900ub?

it was bright as hell when i first put it in, but when you turn it off, there are system settings that allow you do Dim it, and it has an auto dimmer that hooks to your head lights, I get no more headaches any more..

I dont think that you will have to worry bout it bein bright on this guy..

One problem I do have, however, is the reflection off my tan leather during the daytime. When it's bright outside (everyday here in SD) and bounces off the tan leather, it makes the screen kinda hard to see.

Sometimes I just have to hold my hand over it for a moment. Even with tinted windows up.

This would not be a problem for someone with a darker interior.... even grey cloth would make a world of difference.

Also, the antenna wire does not bring the antenna down while listening to a CD or MP3. Pain in the ***, I like to bump my music in the car wash. I wired in a small radio shack switch for full manual control on the antenna.

How much you looking to sell your Avic-D3?

Would you be interested in a trade?

I have an Alpine IDA-X001 ( Best iPod Unit ) + cash?

Thanks
