SQ and rap?

Tonal accuracy is important regardless of what music is being played.

Of course most rap isn't even music.

Ever go to a rap concert?Biggest waste of ****ing time, ever. All it is is some black guy walking around stage like ****ing godzilla swinging one arm, if it's not swinging all around in the ****ing air then he's probably grabbing his balls. If there is women, usually its just nasty *** hoes who just shake like they're having a ****ing seizure on stage.

in rock, they usually use live instruments so to get a subwoofer to play those live instruments means you're a retard because everybody knows the instruments in rock songs and garbage metal i mean death metal are live instruments and rarely have synthesized bass. when has anyone ever pounded on a drum set and caused the house/floor to shake WITHOUT USING SPEAKERS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif?? never. live instruments rarely dip into the low subsonic frequency spectrum so again to use a subwoofer of any kind, especially a higher-end subwoofer, would be absurd because you're using a driver to amplify a frequency it shouldnt be amplifying therefore meaning youre a noob. synthesized bass is more commonly used by rap and can dip very very low because it is digitally oscillated to do so, so the rap listeners are actually the ones who make better use of the higher-end subs. those that say the lower end subs will do just fine for rap are those lacking in audiophilic knowledge, have shit for taste, and are too swayed by their own ignorant biases to understand what good music even is.
Are you serious?

There's an instrument out there that can dip below the range of human hearing, into infrasonic frequencies...I'll give you a hint, it was around for hundreds of years before computers ever came around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Careful now, you just described a Doors concert in the late '60s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

lol, i could say the same(kinda) about rock. You retard who go crazy in a mosh pit and start swingin. People playing instruments walking around stage bobbing there head like crazy like a retard. The only real impressive concert ive seen is a symphony orcestra.

"SQ" subs are not as desired for rap for two reasons:
1. Rap music is not as dynamic; tone, timbre, etc. is not as important for rap either.

2. The type of people who listen to rap have no taste in music in the first place.

Neil
wow just wow

But is guess its the same as saying the only people who listen to country are some bucktooth rednecks playing the banjo.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ready2go.gif.6557fa3d88b9eaca9c7b8efb9cbd02ed.gif I can just feel the love //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well lots of the rap and hiphop i listen to have dynamic basslines, which i love. I get a little sick of the same old droning bass of lil john songs and songs like that.

that is really true.

id like to add that saying "rap", is pretty vague...

there is lot of style... some style are far from being wut you guys think it is...

for example, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, idk about all of u, but they make lot of SQ songs IMO, with lot of instrument, and musical in some of their songs, on the other hand, people like D4L, betcha cant do it like me, young joc, dirty south and all that, this is another style of rap... and bay area also(e40 , ak'sent keak da sneak)

best SQ song I have heard is some reggae/some r&b/soundtracks(The rock soundtrack is insane)and

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bowdown.gif.b85b23b82970bd22fb6b549c3392f016.gif Carl Orff - O fortuna, THIS , my friend, is a sickest symphony/amazing song:drool: all the melody comes in the right place, INSANE, (if anyone know some same style of symphony, plese tell me)

I think one of the main reasons is because when u think SQ subs u think of quick responding subs that hit the note right. Most rap songs (not all) have the bass that just comes in and stays for a few seconds and repeats. But say something like rock/pop/or symphony there would be really quick notes of bass (ie kick drums, etc.). So if u had a low end sub and u listen to something with fast responsive songs it would seem sluggish or sound bad, but u put it with a rap song and it's just bass. Obviously even with a better SQ sub u can tell it sounds alot better with rap songs too, but most people hear rap and just think its plain bass, so they dont bother spending the extra money to hear what a better sound sub will be like.

Rap has a synthesized beat most of the time. It's not a real musical instrument, it doesn't automatically sound out of place being 25 decibels louder than the rest of the music, nor does it have any recognizable shortcomings most of the time. If a drum sounds bad, you know it, becuase most people have an idea what a drum sounds like, can't say the same of the lower end of rap songs, it's allowed to be sloppier. Beyond that, tonality of a rappers voice isnt' usually that important, nor do most songs need or have any real imaging qualities, it's just not SQ material.

2. The type of people who listen to rap have no taste in music in the first place.
I guess a broad taste is the same thing as no taste? So, what is good taste in music? Strictly classic rock? Strictly classical? Strictly opera? Techno? Break beat? Big band? Jazz? Ambient? Indian random?

I hate it when people make comments like that, no matter what type of music they're talking about. It's like saying that anybody who enjoys eating Taco Bell has no real taste for good food. It's lame and arrogant.

Just remember what you're defending.

Also, if you ever made Tacos at home with real hamburger, cheese, fresh vegetables, spices, etc you might give the Taco Bell remark a second thought. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
