SQ and rap?

Just a question, but why are sq and rap like total opposites? If someone listens to a sub and considers it to have poor sq they will recommend it for rap music. I know rap is not orchestra, and it is not the most detailed, but I have listened to rap with lower quality subs and also super subs like the Mag and I still enjoyed the music a whole lot better with the higher quality subs. So why is it always poor sq, good for rap music?

I've had what is considered a budget SPL subs in Kicker CVR's and I didn't like the sound of them. They seemed sloppy to me even while being loud. Rap music has probably the most abundant bass lines of all genres so why wouldn't you need the subs to reproduce it as accurately as possible?

Yes, definitely SPL is better for rap, but with certain setups you can have both, where all types of music sounds great.

Lower sq subs are recommended for rap because you don't need 100% clarity when all you hear is the bassline //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

x2 basicly what I was tryin sayin

"SQ" subs are not as desired for rap for two reasons:

1. Rap music is not as dynamic; tone, timbre, etc. is not as important for rap either.

2. The type of people who listen to rap have no taste in music in the first place.
