The 18"Fi Q is $309 shipped and I know first hand that the Q sounds great blending with music and gets more than loud enough

Would be my choice as well for this budget if adequate power is available. Otherwise, I'd probably go with an Arsenal.

a single JBL W15GTi would serve as a great SQ driver that can get very loud as well. Differential Drive design helps make tighter bass notes with higher power, allowing it to get loud, and stay tight at higher power and volume. I definately think one of those is worth a look.

Mj-18 or maw-15. both can be had for a good price. you could do two mj-18 that will get loud but moreso have great sound to them.

The RLP is also a great choice, but since the price increase may be put of that budget unless you can find one used f/s on the forum

before I even saw the rest of your criteria I was going to say 2 15" kicker CVR's. My friend had 2 in his Saturn powered by an older kicker 800.4... till this day, for what it was, it was the most impressive system i've ever heard... and it was in a sealed box... rattled the sheit outta that car... took me 2-3 systems to match him, i was pissed.
